All maritime and air shipments with final destination the Democratic Republic of Congo shall be regularized by a Fiche Electronique de Renseignement à l’Importation. Generally called FERI.

The FERI certificate is a mandatory document as per circular: “Decision 004” of 20702/2023 and DG-N°003/05/2021 of 18/05/2021. Each B/L or AWB need to be regularized by a Fiche Electronique de Renseignement à l’Importation.

  • B/L (Bill of Lading) or AWB (Air Waybill)

  • Commercial invoice with breakdown of values according to the delivery term (INCOTERM)

  • Freight invoice if the commercial invoice is FOB or EXW

  • FXI Number

  • BIVAC Number

  • Shipper’s Card (Request from the importer in DR Congo – Carte de Chargeur)

  • Used Vehicles:
    Submit the registration certificate showing the first registration date of the used vehicle

    • Incoterm

    • Gross and net weight
    • Volume
  • FXI numeric reference:
    • The reference FXI is released to the importer while opening the import license of the goods; The reference FXI is used by the importer for the necessary completion of the import formalities with the Guichet Unique
  • BIVAC Code:
    • BIVAC code is needed for goods witha a value  > 2.500,00 USD
Procedure
  • Collect all mandatory documents
  • Submit your request on-line or by e-mail
  • Wait for our invoice and draft FERI
  • Check/confirm the draft and proceed with payment
  • Wait for the validated FERIcertificate

Is FERI – ECTN – BESC the same thing?

FERI is the Fiche Electronique de Renseignement à l’Importation. This document is mandatory for all sea and air shipments with final destination the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is gerally called ECTN or BESC.

What is FXI numeric reference?

The FXI reference is released to the importer when they regularized the commercial invoice with an import license. The FXI reference is used by the importer for the necessary import formalities with the single window called “Guichet Unique”.

What is the BIVAC Code?

The BIVAC code is a number that is assigned to the import license. Goods under USD 2,500.00 are exempt.
